What is a JEGO call?
A
If both caller and callee are registered Jego users, then you two can make a “Jego Call”* which is to conduct free voice call through Jego app under certain conditions **.

Remarks: *China mobile number registered customers who locate in Mainland China can use the free messaging services including text/voice messages and photo sharing. Other calling and paid functions (e.g. number binding, Pay as You Go, etc.) are available only when customers are travelling outside Mainland China.

** Jego currently offers 6-month free trial of "Jego Call" and "Video Call" between Jego users to new registrations. After the free trial period, you have to purchase token or any Jego service via credit card/CMHK account in order to make "Jego Call" and "Video Call". What is a video call?

What is a paid call?
A
A paid call is when you call to landlines or mobile phones with Jego through Internet (via 3G/4G*). You need to purchase Jego credits or subscribe a service plan to make paid calls at low rates**.

Can I make Jego Paid call within Mainland China?
A
Paid call is temporary disabled to Mainland China customers who locate in Mainland China. (It does not apply to non-Mainland China customers). When Mainland China customers travel outside Mainland China, they can make paid calls to fixed lines and mobile phones worldwide.

Q.
What is a regular call?
A
If there is no data network available (3G/4G, Wi-Fi) for Jego call, you can make a regular call directly via your cellular network.

Q.
Can I dial to a non Jego user?
A
Yes, you can make paid calls* to landline and mobile phones of non-Jego user.

Remarks: *Paid call is temporary disabled to Mainland China customers who locate in Mainland China.


Q.
How can I use Jego for international calling?
A
The call dialing experience of international calling by Jego is same as using your mobile phone to call international number directly, you will need to key in “00” or “+”, country code and phone number or find the contact from Jego contact list and make a paid call*. If you want to look up the country code, please check at http://countrycode.org/. You may check all the rates at http://jego.me/rate/standard_rate.html?language_id=1.

Remarks: * China mobile number registered customers who locate in Mainland China can use the multi-media messaging services (including text/voice messages and photo sharing) only.   Other call functions are available when customers are travelling outside Mainland China.

Why is there "missed call"?
A
Two possible reasons: 1) Someone called your Jego when you didn’t have internet access to access Jego. 2) You didn’t pick up the call when someone called you.

Q.
How can I check current network connectivity condition during Jego Call that may affect voice quality ?
A
When you use Jego for voice service, the upper right corner will have an indicator for current network connectivity condition. Green means good connection, Yellow for acceptable, red for poor connection. “Red” condition implies inadequacy for conducting voice calls.

Q.
Why the callee cannot hear my voice during Jego Call after I’ve updated my device to iOS7?
A
This may be  you have not yet enabled the microphone for Jego in privacy settings of your device after you’ve updated to iOS  7.

Please complete the settings as follows:

Settings – Privacy – Microphone – Enable Jego microphone

If problem still exists after the settings have been completed, please contact Jego customer support for further assistance.

Under what conditions I use "Jego Call" function ?
A

You can use “Jego Call” function under the below conditions:

  • Both caller and callee are Jego friends already.
  • Your Jego free voice/video call services* period has not yet expired**. You can check the validity period in Jego web portal “My Account – My Credits and Plans” or you can check in Jego app “Settings – Account Mgt.” (You can only check the validity period of one active plan in Jego web portal if you have more than one plan in your Jego account because only one active plan details can be checked in Jego app).

How to calculate the validity period for free Jego voice/video call services?

Once you have recharged Jego credits or purchased any Jego plan, the validity period will be extended for 3 more months starting from the day of last recharge/purchase made.

Q.
Why sometimes the Jego call connectivity is unstable?
A
The voice quality of a Jego call largely depends on your current data network condition, i.e., the stability of your Wi-Fi, 3G or 4G connection. Jego recommends that you check the connectivity indicator on the upper right corner to see if the condition is suitable for calling. If the network condition is not good enough, please try to find a more stable Wi-Fi or data network connection.

Q.
During a Jego call if I leave the data network coverage area, would the call be dropped?
A
Yes. Voice call will be disconnected, because Jego will not be able to connect to the server when there is no network connectivity. So when using Jego, please make sure you are in an environment where data connectivity is available.

Q.
Can I change the status preferences of Jego multi-media message?
A
We have two statuses for multi-media messages between Jego users, i.e., sent and read. In order to protect your privacy, you may turn on/off the message status by going to "Settings->Message Settings".

Q.
Can I receive the multi-media message that someone sent to me while I am offline?
A
Jego supports offline messages storage so when user goes back online, all offline messages can be retrieved accordingly.
