Why Use Jego? What is the difference between Jego and other OTT products?

Jego is a mobile APP developed by China Mobile International Limited for mobile devices such as mobile phones and tablets. It provides international telecommunication services over the Internet worldwide. With China Mobile global network and technology, Jego customers can enjoy convenient and cheaper international telecommunication services with high voice quality worldwide.
The core functions of Jego are international telecommunication services, number rental and binding services. Jego provides exclusive number binding and rental services to help you to save IDD and roaming costs.
Jego also provides multi-media messaging (including text/voice messages and photo sharing) and voice/video call services among Jego users**.
Remarks: **Jego network and PoPs (Point of Presence) are located worldwide outside Mainland China. China mobile number registered Jego customers who locate in Mainland China can use the free messaging services including text/voice messages and photo sharing. Other calling and paid functions (e.g. number binding, Pay as You Go, etc.) are available only when customers are travelling outside Mainland China.

Q.
Can Jego reduce my telephone bill?
A
Yes. You can use Jego to call non-Jego users' mobile phone or landline at very low rates*. Jego provides the number binding service for China Mobile (Mainland China) customers and the number rental services for all customers which allows you to receive unlimited calls with the binding/rental number whenever you are worldwide.  Also, under certain conditions **, Jego users can make/receive free voice/video calls and send/receive multi-media messages can be made and sent between each other without any charges.

China mobile number registered Jego customers who locate in Mainland China can use the free messaging services including text/voice messages and photo sharing. **  Jego currently offers 1-month free trial of "Jego Call" and "Video Call" between Jego users to new registrations. After the free trial period, you have to purchase token or any Jego service via credit card/CMHK account in order to make “Jego Call” and "Video Call". Otherwise you can only receive "Jego Call" and "Video Call" from other Jego users. (Service details is subject to promotion alteration)

When to use Jego?
A
Jego is an Internet-based mobile communication application, so you can use Jego when Internet access is available via the connectivity of 3G/4G/Wi-Fi. 2G is NOT recommended. You may also refer to the network condition indicator in Jego Call, which indicates the connectivity condition of the channel between 2 parties.

Where can I get help if I encounter problems while using Jego?

Firstly, you can look for any answers in FAQ in Jego web portal and Jego app (“Settings – Help– FAQ”).

If the related answer cannot be found in FAQ, you can contact Jego customer support through Jego web portal (“Support - Email Us), Jego app (“Setting - Contact Us”) or direct email sent to customer support (cs@jego.me).

Can I use Jego within Mainland China?

Jego network and PoPs are located worldwide outside Mainland China. China mobile number registered Jego customers who locate in Mainland China can use the free messaging services including text/voice messages and photo sharing. Other calling and paid functions (e.g. number binding, Pay as You Go, etc.) are available only when customers are travelling outside Mainland China.

If you are registered Jego with non-China mobile number, you can use all Jego functions in Mainland China.

Can I use Jego for emergency calls?

Currently Jego can only support emergency call (999) in Hong Kong, but not in other countries or regions. Please use your subscribed mobile or landline service for emergency call.

Jego is not a total replacement of your telephone for emergency call.


Q.
Can I use Jego in Airplane mode?
A
Jego can be used only when there is Internet access (via 2G/3G/4G/Wi-Fi). Therefore, you cannot access Jego service in Airplane mode. You may manually connect your mobile device to any Wi-Fi network with Internet access at Airplane mode to use Jego.

How can I check Jego call details?

You can see all the call details by logging into Jego web portal (In “Call History” page).

Q.
What kind of issue I should check with mobile services provider before I purchase Jego services?
A
You should check with your mobile service provider if there is any restriction on the use of VoIP services in your subscribed data plan as it may affect the user experience and call performance of VoIP services. Therefore, Jego strongly recommend you to check with your mobile service providers before using Jego or arranging recharge in Jego website.
